Ethel May Madison, 81, of Davenport, Iowa died September 10, 2012 at her home. Celebration of Life services will be held at 1 PM Friday, September 14th at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens. A memorial fund will be established in her memory.
Mrs. Madison was born in 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa to Booker T. and Jessie Jackson. She married Alberto Madison in 1948. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Central Church of Christ, Davenport, where she taught Sunday school. She also enjoyed C.A.S.I., Bingo, making Christmas fudge, watching "Gunsmoke", "Bonanza", "Little House on the Prairie", and "Days of Our Lives" featuring Deidre Hall, of whom she was a huge fan.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Madison of Rock Island, IL, Deborah Williams, Donna Madison, Dianna Madison, Tracy Madison and Tolonna Madison, all the Davenport, IA; nine grandchildren, including her grandson Matthew Madison and his wife Amanda of Davenport, with whom she made her home; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Terry and a son Micah.
