Although she had her career sights set on interior design, her father encouraged her to pursue a teaching degree. Her work included residences and commercial projects ranging from an island home in Florida to projects in Germany and Costa Rica. In addition, her design work included the family owned bank. She was a member of Princeton Presbyterian Church, Bank Director of the former Great River Bank for over 40 years, Figge Museum, Buffalo Bill Museum, professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, P.E.O., Questers, and Scott Community College Foundation. She also loved being with friends and family, history of the Mississippi River, interior design, travel, architecture, and boating.
