Very sorry to learn of Dave's passing away. I knew Dave when he was with KRVR as general manager and announcer.
Gary Baldwin (Friend) - 8/1/2010
Dave was a good friend, we had a "music group" in the late 60's. He played rythem guitar and I played drums. We also made an amature movie. We went together to purchase developing equipment. I later sold him my half. We had some great times together. We worked together at a small chain restaurant, Gino's. I will always remember Dave and the fun we had growing up.
Hector Lareau (taekwondo friend) - 7/31/2010
Dave was a model martial artist, comporting himself with kindness and consideration in all his dealings with others. He was a patient instructor and support to color belts, demonstrating by his own actions the determination and persistence in training required to earn a black belt.
He nearly quit training when he was a brown belt, on the concern that he did not have the physical ability to learn and execute advanced techniques. He did not quit, however, and I was very proud to shake his hand after he put in the time and effort to develop his strength, stamina, and skill to earn his black belt. He was, as ever, modest about his achievement and concerned about others' progress.
His passing is a significant loss to the martial arts community.
