Darlene F. Koberg, 63, of Davenport, Iowa, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at her home after a three and a half year battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 9th, at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davenport. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday, June 8th at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly & Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Memorials may be made to St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davenport.

Darlene was born in 1946 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Violet Brus. She married James D. Koberg, April 20, 1968, in Davenport. She was a secretary and office manager for the University of Iowa Hospitals, Davenport. She had also worked for the United Way Davenport and in the nursing department at the former Marycrest College.

Darlene was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church of which she was twice Council President and participated on many committees. She was a member of Lucrative Ladies. She loved flowers and truly had a green thumb. She enjoyed biking, hiking, skiing, golfing, canoeing, camping and running the BIX. She cherished the many people in her life, especially her family and six grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband Jim; sons and daughter in law, Travis Lee (Jennifer) Koberg of Fairfax Station, Virginia and Corey Lucas (Anu) Koberg of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Peyton, Dane and Reese, Travis's children, Aria, Allegra and Trajan, Corey's children; a sister Dorothy Hieronymi of Fairfax, Virginia; and a brother Virgil Brus of Davenport, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Roland.
