Dave passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Trinity Pathway Hospice
in Bettendorf, Iowa, surrounded by his loved ones after a long battle
with cancer. Dave was an inspiration to all who knew him. He fought
daily with the fatigue and ill effects of the cancer, but still tried
his best to give 110% to his patients, friends and family. He was
always the compassionate caregiver, caring father and loving husband.
Throughout his journey his sense of humor and quick wit could always
bring a smile or a laugh. Dave had many diverse interests. He had a
deep love of music and played the guitar, a love of all various
religions and their meanings, reading and gaining deeper knowledge of
various subjects, writing poetry and he sure made his political views
known to all.
Dave was born in 1951 to David and Maxine. He was the youngest of four
children, grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated from George
Washington Senior High School in 1969. He received his medical degree
in 1984 from UC San Diego, his pediatric fellowship at Stanford
University in 1987 and his Allergy and Immunology Fellowship at UCSF in
1989. He practiced with Allergy and Asthma Medical Group of The Bay
Area, Inc. for 19 years in California. Dave was a very dedicated
doctor and it was very important that he provide the highest quality of
service to his patients. Of equal importance to him was his family.
He felt strongly that they be raised with the same Mid-Western values
in which he had been raised. As a result, Dave and his wife, Robin,
moved to the Quad Cities in 2008 to raise their two daughters, Kayleigh
and Kiryn. He entered into private practice in the Quad Cities until
