Susan Frye (friend) - 4/28/2010
Dear Sarah: I am the daughter of Helen Frye, who told me tonight of Warren's death after I read your recent correspondence. I was out of the country when he died, or I would have attended his visitation or funeral. Your parents were among Mom and Dad's best friends. I will always remember how they visited Mom in the SICU in Iowa City after her heart surgery in 2001. They were extremely caring individuals, and I am so very sorry for your loss. The picture of you and Warren on your card is sweet and touching. He was such an incredible man, and I will miss him a lot. Sincerely, Susan Frye.

I was so sorry to learn of your father's death last week when I visted my parents at Ridgecrest. I was relieved when I learned that you were able to be there for him. I don't think we're ever really ready to be without our parents. My heart is with you. Karen and Bob

Dear Sarah and Peter.
We want to let you know that our thoughts are with you right now when you are suffering from the loss of your beloved father. Sarah we talked frequently about the passing away of our parents and did not quite know what to wish at what time for them. You might feel relief for him now, but certainly sadness will be in your heart and we want to wish you the strength it takes to keep the love for him with you but let him pass in peace.
I am writing now to you, because I am packing to go to Germany to see my mother. As you did yourself, Sarah, I am trying to spend some quality time with a loved one as often as possible. With warm thoughts for you, Ingrid and Eckard.

Just a short note to let you know what a honor it was to know your father and care for him in the time we had together. He was a special part of our station one family and we miss him already. Thank you for being such a wonderful daughter and blessings to you and your family.

Dear Sarah and Peter,
So very sorry to hear of your loss. Your parents were lucky to have such a devoted daughter and son-in-law. No matter how long we are blessed to have our parents, they always leave us too soon. And so goes The Circle of Life.
My love,
Sharon Car

We are so sorry for your loss. May you cherish the many happy memories of his life and especially of that precious time Sarah could share with her dad at the end. As I read about Warren's full life, I decided he and my dad would have enjoyed each other immensely, tinkering with mechanical things, working with growing things and playing endless games of cards.
Karen (Stamm) and Steve Edmunds (lifelong family friend) - 3/10/2010
My brother couldnt have said it better.......the love, joy, and laughter are memories that will last forever! We were part of an elite group of friends who were more like a big family! Vera and Warren were very special! You and I shared so many talks, tears, and hugs while we were "home" visiting our parents, especially last fall. You know you are in my thoughts and prayers always. Love you!

We were so sorry to hear about the death of your father, Sarah. I know that you were extremely close which must make these days very hard for you. Your Dad surely knew that he was blessed to have you as a source of love, concern, and support through the years. May all your happy memories become a source of comfort and peace in the coming weeks, months and years. You are both in our thoughts and prayers.

Sarah,
We are so sorry to hear about your dad. However, we were relieved to hear that you were with him at the end and had an opportunity say goodbye.
It's strange...although we never met your mothter and father, we heard so many wonderful stories about them, we feel like we met them many times!
Your father was very lucky to have such a devoted daughter...not to mention a son-in-law as supportive as Peter.
Although we know you will miss him, as you have your mother, you have some great memories about the wonderful relationship you had with them both.
Warren and Vera are in our prayers and in the prayers of our parishioners.
Hope to speak soon. Kate & Dave

Sarah and Peter,
It was with great sadness that we learned of Warren's passing. Words cannot express the love, joy and laughter he brought to all of us that knew him. Your parents were part of a very special group of people, with a closeness that we do not see anymore. We were very lucky to be the offspring of that group! Whether it was holidays at the Meyer farm, Sunday night dinner of apples and popcorn at your house, or taking our kids trick or treating (your folks' house was always a "must" visit), the memories will last forever. Our sympathies go out to you for your loss. God Bless.

Sarah & Peter:
I am so sorry to hear about your father. He was such a sweet man. I am so thankful I got to meet the three of you. Wish this was under different circumstances. I will hopefully be there for the visitation. God Bless! I am so sorry for your loss.

I was sad to see that our neighbor had past away. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Warren and Vera were our neighbors on 37th Street. They watched our two little girls grow up. I will never forget the beautiful yard that he spent many hours on. Whenever we took walks we could always count on Warren and Vera to stop us and talk to the girls. He will be missed.
