George W. Clark, 66, of Davenport, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport. Services in celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 4th, at Gospel Mission Temple, 5074 N. Pine St., Davenport. Visitation will be held froom 4-6 P.M. Wednesday at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge, Davenport. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois, where military services will be conducted by Mexican- American Post . Memorials may be made to the Dialysis/Renal unit at Genesis Medical Center.

Mr. Clark was born in 1943 in Meridian, Mississippi to Earnest G. and Annie L. Clark. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. In previous years he worked as a forklift driver for the former French & Hecht and Red Jacket, as a guard for Deere and Co. and Alcoa, and as a sheriff's deputy. He enjoyed spending time with his family and `watching old movies, especially westerns.

Survivors include daughters, Sherri (Eddie) Sauls of Des Moines, Angel Clark of Waterloo, Erica Clark of Kansas City, MO, Darkaya Henderson of Memphis, TN, and Latoya Trice of Davenport; sons, Marvin Clark, William Duno ( Jennifer) Freeman, Michael Clark, Robert Clark, all of Des Moines, and Derrick Craig of Rock Island; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his step-father, John E. Page of Davenport; sisters, Earnestine Patricia Threatt of El Mirage, AZ, Alma "Jeanne" (Earl) Bragg of Davenport, and Vickie Williams of Des Moines; brothers, Gary (Rena') Clark and Reginald Page, both of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Larry Clark.
