My heart goes out to you in the most heartfelt and sincere way. I also have a six year old son and can not imagine the loss and pain you must be feeling. Your son has the most beautiful smile and I hope that is what stays with you in your memories of him. Those who say that time heels all wounds must not ever have been a mother. I hope you find comfort and love in your children and family. My prayers go out to you.
Lori Hoepner (high school friend) - 2/21/2010

Mom called and told me about little Jack. Our deepest sympathies go out to you and all of your family. We occasionally would go onto his web page and always enjoyed the pictures and funny little stories you would tell about his life. He touched so many hearts. God Bless

I'm so sorry to have just learned of the loss of your handsome boy! Our daughter Stella is a weak Type I and almost 3 years old and we live with uncertainty as well. Please know we will be sending you prayers of comfort and peace. Jack, please send your family some special signs from heaven, even though you are probably pretty busy laughing and playing free from SMA.
With love,
The Turnbulls

I left a condolence on the obituary page of the Times, and then realized that Jack was at the Clarissa Cook Home, which is where my Jeremiah passed, we donated a spongebob journey quilt because there weren't really any quilts for children. I was hoping that perhaps you chose Jeremiah's quilt for Jack. Since Jeremiah's passing I have noticed what a small world we really live in. How people are touched by one another. Take care, my blessings and prayers to you all.

I grew up with Kristin
Keane & told me of your news. My brother in law passed away the same morning. I want to reassure you that Marvin & Jack are enjoying their lives with Jesus. Neither one is suffering at all. Marvin loved kids so he will make sure all is always well with Jack. Please continue to remember all the wonderful times you had with Jack. Even though we never met, I was continually checking your post on Jack & from the outside looking in...your family gave Jack the most wonderful time here on earth!! You are an awesome family!!!! I wish all parents of special needs children saw what you and your family were able to see in Jack....ultimate possibilites! You have been in my prayers often.
Take Care,
Jane Schmitz

Matt and Tracy,
Reyd and I are so sorry to hear of your great loss. That is such a great picture of Jack. He looks so happy there. I truly understand the loss of a son. As hard as it is now, he will live on in your hearts and minds and each year on his birthday you will have a special day of extra remembrance of him. Please know that we are thinking of you and the rest of the your family. Shelby, Hannah and Nick will help you through this as much as you will help them. As each day passes the great ache in your heart will lessen little by little until you can finally get through a day without pain. That does not mean that you are forgetting Jack, it just means that you are finally going to be at peace.
We love you,
Sarah and Reyd

Tracy, Dr. Lindaman and family, we are so sorry for your loss of your precious Jack. I did not meet Jack, only through pictures on his site, but somehow he has touched my spirit and my soul. I also have a 6 year old and when I look at Jacks pictures, I feel your sorrow, none of us will know the depth of your loss, but know that even with perfect strangers you are cared for in the coming days of your healing and suffering. 2 nights ago after we had heard of your loss, my son Joshua wanted to make up a story, he was quite insistant, we both added fun and sweet details to this story about a boy which was his idea, and I asked my son what is his name? He said to me as if I should have read his mind. Mom, its Jack. Please know you are all in our prayers now and in the days to come. Your precious boy has touched so many hearts, God bless you all, Sinccerely, Shelley Mottet

Anne and Trampus Budde (Friends) - 2/19/2010
Tracy and Matt,
Trampus and I just read Jack's obituary in the paper together in my office. We cried...it is beautifully written and we love that you included his "like" and the special names for Grandparents. His photo jumps off the page because of the sparkle in his eye.
You have always respected the dignity of Jack's life - we are in awe of your commitment to all your kids and each other.
As you go through the next few days, know that we will be there and will await a time later when we can connect.
We love you both...
Anne and Trampus
