Willella Fluellin passed away February 11, 2010, at Trinity Hospital at the age of 86.

The family hour will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2010, followed by the funeral at 11A.M. at Progressive Baptist Church, 1302 E. 12th St., Davenport. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Weerts Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Willella was a member of Progressive Baptist Church and the Naomi Chapter No. 1, Order of Eastern Star.

Willella was born to William and Rosa Hood in Moline, Illinois, on September 12, 1924. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1942. After her freshman year at the University of Kansas, she went to Chicago and enrolled in the Poro Beauty College. After graduation, she returned to Davenport and began working at Parker's department store, where she worked for many years. She then began working at the Rock Island Arsenal, where she worked until retirement.

On December 23, 1945, she was joined in holy matrimony to James Fluellin, who preceded her in death in November 1990. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Rose Marie Hood.

Willella leaves to mourn her brother, William (Gwendolyn) Hood, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a niece, Sheila Hood, Iowa City, Iowa, and a nephew, William Hood III, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She also leaves to mourn godchildren and a host of cousins and friends.
Willella was a kind, loving, generous person and she will be missed by all.
