Suzy Hartung (Former neighbor at The Davenport) - 2/10/2010
I extend my sincerest sympathies to Sue's family on the passing of a lovely person. While I only knew Sue a few years, when we both resided at The Davenport, in downtown Davenport, it took no time at all to discern what a lovely, bright and warm person Sue was. During the earlier stages of Sue's illness, maybe 4 years ago or so, I also had the pleasure to meet her sister Judy, another warm and loving person. When Sue seemed to be in remission for a while and returned to work at Palmer, I ran into her periodically at the Palmer Library. Throughout her health challenges, Sue was an inspiration to all who encountered her. I know how important family was to Sue and how much she loved each of you. My sincerest sympathies to you all . . . . Suzy Hartung

When i first met Susan, she was full of life and happy. She is an inspiration to all. Her sickness never interfered with her smile. I will truly miss her. My thoughts and prayers go to her son and sister, and of course "Harvey"

John, Jennifer and family -
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember her being such a gentle and sweet person. I know it is little comfort to tell you she is free from struggle when your heart aches so. My family's prayers for your comfort are with you during this difficult time. To your family we express our sincere condolences.

I worked with Sue for almost five years at Palmer College. She was a good friend, and a great secretary! She was always there for me - on both a professional and personal level. She will be missed dearly. God bless.

I only knew Sue for 3 years but found her to be a proud and determined person. She was a great person to work with and I will miss seeing her face when I come into work. My sincere condolences to Sue's entire family. May you all find peace and comfort in your memories of her.
Dennis & Paula Peterson (Library Director) - 2/8/2010
To Sue's family,
Paula and I want to extend our heart felt condolences to you. We were saddened to learn of Sue's passing when we retuned to Davenport from Macedonia providing elder care with our family over the weekend. Having known Sue these past 18 years, I know she took great pride in her work with the Library. Sue also expressed great joy when talking about her family. She was very proud and supportive of you John, and Jennifer and the grand children, with all the successes and accomplishments, particularly with the grand kids. I know she loved you all dearly, and I know you will hold her in you hearts because of her love for you.

The world lost a beautiful person on Saturday. May she rest in peace.
Jim & Nancy Kerns (Family of Edwin R. Kerns) - 2/8/2010
Sue was an in home caregiver for Jim's father, Edwin. He always enjoyed Sue's visits so much. She would come in, greet Edwin warmly, and plop down on the floor and play with the dog while she and Edwin talked. After her visits, he would ask us, "When is Sue coming back?" She was warm and friendly and professional in every way. And she talked so positively about her family. Please accept our condolences.
