Clifton "Leon" Stottlemyre, 84, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at his home. Services in celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 22nd, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge, Davenport, where the family will greet friends from 11:30 A.M. until time of service. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois.

Leon was born in 1925 in Harris, Missouri to Clifford H. and Bertha Stottlemyre. He served with the U.S. Army during WW II. On April 30, 1949, he married Bobby Helen Payne in Princeton, Missouri. For the next 22 years, he was a heavy equipment operator for Beverage/ Priester Construction, Davenport. The eight years following, he was employed by the City of Davenport as a bus driver. His memberships included Westside Assembly of God, Davenport, and American Legion Post #26, Davenport.

Survivors include his wife, Bobby; daughters, Diania J. (Wally) Hamly of Maysville, IA, Teresa L. Stottlemyre of Davenport, and Tamara S. (Kurt) Hook of Fulton, IL; grandchildren, Amy Hildebrant, Adam Hamly and Natasha Stottlemyre; great-grandchildren, Brady and Cole Hildebrant, and Taylor and Parker Hamly; and sister, Willa L. Overton of Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
